Why the open roof matters
From above, with the sheathing off, we reach the top plates, wall cavities, and duct boots that nobody can touch from inside a finished attic. Ducts get laid in clean runs instead of threaded around framing.
That’s why we’ll put a 50% duct leakage reduction in writing and test it twice to prove it. Work done through a scuttle hole can’t be guaranteed that way, because it can’t be reached that way.
